Our Trip to Andaman Islands - October 2019
Our Trip to Andaman Islands - October
2019
A holiday to Andaman & Nicobar Islands is a once
in a lifetime experience. Andaman & Nicobar is full of amazing natural
beauty and stunning marine life. We are eager to share our experience and
thoughts about this lovely place. Our’s was a ‘couple-trip’ which we had
planned (instant planning. lol π)
for our anniversary.
Day 1: Port Blair
We
started our trip by early morning 7 AM at Chennai International Airport. We were
very much excited for our trip as it was our celebration of first anniversary.
We had booked our flight in Spice-jet and it was 2+ hours journey and we landed
at Port Blair. The view of Andaman from the flight looked like "A Showplace of evolution's Slow Magic" ππIt was approx. 10 AM by the time we got our baggage and came out
of the airport. As soon as we got out were welcomed by the hot scorching sun (quick tip π‘ : Never ever think of going to Andaman without sunblock cream)
We booked a pre-paid cab at airport to get to our hotel. We had
decided to spend much in the other islands, So we decided to go for a 2-star hotel.
Our stay was at the Sea View hotel. Its was a budget-friendly and a decent
hotel which was close to the shore. The chill shore breeze and the view of bright blue sea from our balcony sight made us to thank our decision of opting this hotel. Since it started to rain by the time we reached the hotel,we didn't wanna roam outside. hence decided to have a full meal at the hotel and a good
noon nap. By evening, when the rain was little settled, we decided to go for a walk in the nearby shore and bazaar (market) areas .
It was mildly drizzling by then and we were enjoying a long, romantic walk along the shore. I was hearing the land speaking to me in the silence of the evening through the izzzing of the beach waves. After a enjoyable walk we went to the bazaar area to have some snacks. By time the streets were pitch dark!! We were confused if we should go for snacks or supperπ― then we looked at the time and was shocked to realize that it was only 5 pm. By then it started pouring and we enjoyed hot-hot vegetable momos along with hot chai(TEA) under the roof of a street shop while the mild spray of the rain was drizzling on us and the cold breeze was making us go all shivery which made our hot snacks more enjoyable and these small moments made our first day a more romantic one.
Just with little twist when we returned to our hotel, we got to hear from the reception that if it continues to pour, our cruise which we had booked for the next morning might get cancelled. We had to call the cruise helpline again and again and they confirmed us that if there is cancellation of cruise, they would call every individual and inform the same. We had to have our dinner at hotel and sleep hoping our cruise wont get cancelled. Did we make it to the other islands the next day or did we stay at Port Blair cursing the rain??????
