Day 2 : Havelock Islands

Yesssss....!!! We woke up the next day with Bigg SMILE πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ seeing the Sun shining Bright 🌞 We reached the PortBlair Jetty by 7.30,
an hour before the boarding time which was 8.30 AM as per the guidelines of  the Cruise Helpdesk. Jetty??πŸ€” 🀣 Yes! that's how they call the Port for inter-island Cruise (facepalm). We had booked the ITT Majestic cruise for our  travel from PortBlair to Havelock. Its one of the expensive cruise available as we wanted to experience the Majestic feel while we travelπŸ˜‰

ITT Majestic Cruise

The travel started which much much excitement as the view from the cruise was mesmerizing with the rain drops in the window.

But in no time we realized that the travel is no longer exciting. It was supposed to be 1hour 15mins travel, but it happened to be the sea was very rough due to the climate and it took 2 hours for us to reach. Its not just 2hours.. its TWOOOOOOOO LONGGGGGGGGG HOURSSSSSSSSSSSS. I say this not because it just took 45 extra mins of our time, but because of the sea sickness. Since the climate was very very bad and so the sea was veryy veryyy VERYYYYY ROUGH πŸ˜’😭 Though the captain announced that its no danger to panic and just the sea roughness, we both were completely irritated as we were puking the full 1 hour 45 mins.  The first 15mins was very exciting as we felt like going on a roller coaster ride. We were shouting among ourselves and enjoying. But imagine being in roller coaster for full 2 hours 😫 I can say that was the worst travel I ever had in my life and hopefully the worst i'll ever have too.

The climate turning bad

The rough waves

I'm trying badly to pose when i'm about to throw up in any sec now 😒

Finally, We reached Havelock's Jetty. As soon as we reached there, the sight of the island made us forget all the sea sickness we had in the travel. The bright blue ocean, the chirps of the birds and chill breeze made us feel AWWWW πŸ˜ We started to have a heart to heart connect from the moment we entered Havelock Islands. As soon as we left the exit, we were surrounded by a huge crowd of cab drivers but as usual we searched if there were any bike renting service available. We found a bike renting place few metres from the exit and we hired a bike for Rs.500 per day and Rs. 2000 was paid extra as advance. We had plans for staying in Havelock for 2 days. So took the bike and rode to Symphony Palms Beach Resort which we had booked. It was one awesome resort with rooms built with wood and surrounded by trees which gave "Wood house" effect. We were welcomed by energizing welcome drinks and was asked to wait for few mins as there were many people already. We were like "Namba eppa chumma ukanthirukom"πŸ˜› and we went to have a look at the private beach of the resort. The White Sand, the Blue waves and the clear sky made us admire at the beauty of horizon.

In midst of admiring the Beauty of the beach, we missed to note the time. We were called by the receptionist and handed over the room keys to the house keeping who brought us our baggage along with him.  By the time we went to our room, it started to rain and the raindrops were rattling along the roof. I was in so much hunger that I couldn't wait for my hubby to order food from the restaurant so I opened the 2 cup noodles we had bought in case of emergency and as usual I was not even able to finish one and made my hubby eat the remaining 🀣 This happens always and he is ready to kill me for this 😝 post which we had a short nap and got ready to check and explore about Havelock.

The Beach View Wood House room

We started our ride by 3.30PM, I would say our ride was in middle of succulent lush of grass in the rain dripped road, the smell of the rainy sand was hanging in the air. We were enjoying the ride more than we will enjoy the destination.

The WOWWW feel of riding bike in this climate and road

Initially our plan was to go to Elephant beach first and then Radha Nagar beach. But since it was pouring cats and dogs just before we left, the place was very slippery and we were informed by the locals that its of high risk to go to that place, hence we had to skip Elephant Beach. We reached Radha Nagar beach by 4.15 PM. Its one of the longest beach in Havelock Island. If you travel by any travels or any agency this is the only beach which they'll take you too. As soon as we got down, we had tender coconut. I would say it is one of the largest tender coconut which i have ever seen in my life. The vendor told us the minimum quantity of the coconut water is 700ml and max is 1.5litres.

My Crazy hubby clicking pics of me when i'm seriously drinking coconut water (Dont mind my dumb reaction😝)

Once we were done with it, we went for the beach, the beach was crowded at the beginning but when we walked further more, there were just handful of people. Radha Nagar Beach is one best place to watch the Sunset. Sunset at Havelock will be by approx 5.15PM. The sunset there is magical. Though it was bit cloudy, the colours of the sky were playing with themselves. How we wished that the rainy clouds moved little bit more so that we could enjoy the scene completely. But its okay! As it was our first experience where the sky and the clouds were playing among themselves while the sun silently went downπŸŒ…

The moment when my hubby forgot me and started to enjoy the scenic beauty!

Our moments together in the Beautiful Beach

None will ever feel like leaving the place once they have seen the sunset there. But then the security guards came blowing the whistle saying us to leave the place.  We came out and when we were about to start the bike, we noticed the small tea shop. How would we ever miss chai during travel. We had hot Chai along with Bajji and Samosas. It was one delicious Chai, one would not expect such thick milk in a just road side shop so my hubby had two chais.. He is one typical tea lover. Post which we started by 6PM. By then darker than we experienced at Port Blair. It was soo dark, that our bike headlight was not enough to manage to see the roads. We were thankful whenever a car came behind us as it gave us light for some time.

Trust me its just 6PM!

We reached our resort by 7PM. We were able to get good Wifi connection at the hotel reception only. By the way did i mention, the highest mobile data speed one can get at Andaman can only be 40kbps this is at PortBlair  In Havelock one can hardly get 15kbps 😿 So after not using internet for one full day we spent around half an hour's time at the reception using wifi then we had mild dinner at restaurant as our stomachs were already full with snacks and went to room to sleep with much much muchh more excitement. Obviously! How can we be without any excitement?? Its our FIRST ANNIVERSARY the next day... Yayyyy...!!! The most awaited day!! The most important day of our trip!!!! So with much excitement for the next day, we tried hard to sleep.

To know about stuffs happened on our anniversary and the places we went, you gotta wait till my next blog!!!!!
