Hey, friends! I thought I will start my first blog entry with my recent trip which gave me a lot of experience, that is gonna be great to share with you people.
When I planned for a road trip this monsoon season everyone suggested me not to get a bike as it may rain. But what is the fun when you can't enjoy the rain and the cold wind, that too in a monsoon trip.
There are no words for me to explain the beauty I witnessed and experienced on this trip... its such an awesome trip with the blanket of green everywhere. I'm not a poet to convey them, so planned to share some photos.
The first day for me it's completely architectural journey... But from the 2nd day, it's completely turned into a journey in heaven.

It was a five days Solo Bike trip.
After getting relieved from my old company on July 3rd week Friday. I was in a confusion on when to join my new company. On Sunday evening I thought of executing solo drive plan before joining the company. I had this plan for a long time but never got an opportunity. Finally, at 7 PM I booked a bus to Mysore from Chennai.

As it is a last minute plan I didn't prepare anything, bus leaves at 8.40, It was a 1-hour travel for me to catch a bus, so I took my rucksack and dumped whatever clothes I got. Had three camera batteries so I'm sure somehow they will have charge, took my powerbank and left.
To reach bus stand I started with a bus ride and once reached metro station switched to metro train to catch the bus ASAP, but I was late by 20 min, somehow convinced the driver to wait and finally caught the bus outside of bus station by running with my big luggage.
After getting into the bust I finally got my moment of peace so now it was the time for me to search for my destination place. I had a max time of 6 days as on next Sunday I need to be in my home for other personal reasons. Planned for some UNESCO temples and Chikmagalur.
After reaching, Mysore got refreshed and rented an Avenger bike (an old friend :P ) and started my journey.
The trip started with the warm welcome from weather could feel the heat while riding. But soon the climate started to change with clouds flowing in.
The drive made me experience a complete cultural change as I passed through one place from other. After an hour of driving found a small hotel for having a breakfast.
Had few idly, vada and off course tea. Idly and sambar is completely different from what I have in my native. The taste is good, if had gone to some big hotels I'm not sure whether I would have got this taste.
First thought to visit Sri Lakshminarayana Swamy Temple which is one among UNESCO heritage which is on the way to Chikmagalur. The temple is Hoysala Architecture which is unique when compared to Tamil Nadu or Kerala temples. This temple is small one when compared to other few temples, but the beauty of the architecture is outstanding. The place is well maintained. When I visited I was the only one there and couldn't see any one. Few local peoples are outside the temple chatting with their friends.
After finishing this temple started to next destination Ishvara Temple, Arasikere. This temple was 80km from this one. During travel, the climate started to change. Some places it started to drizzle. Reached the temple around 12 after taking some break for tea. This temple is a little bit different when compared to last one. The front area of the temple is different as you can see in the photo. Inside the temple, you can see around some 20 pillars. On closer looking found that design patterns of pillars are differed at least by some small changes.
After getting a bit spiritual had some conversation with some locals and started moving to Halebeedu, which is located at 54Km, there are 3 temples here. First I visited Hoysaleshwara Temple, This temple is quite a big one a complete Hoysala Architecture. The architecture and sculptures are impressive. Lord shiva lingam is inside the temple which is quite impressive with Nandi god outside the temple. The way flowers are arrangements and light of lamp makes the shiva lingam is very good. |

From this temple other two temples are in a walkable distance so had some juice for warm weather and went to Halebeedu Basadi Digambar Jain Temple. There are three Buddha gods inside 3 different buildings, not sure about the reason behind it, as there is no one to enquire I'm not aware of that. But the place is well maintained. Next temple is 200mts away from this one, Kedareshwar Temple. This temple is the smallest one when compared to all the other temples and still, we could see the same level of architecture work done in this temple also.

It was 5 pm, so I planned to move to Chikmagalur. It was a 25km ride in the rain. While traveling came across a Yagachi Reservoir. Even in heavy rain, I stopped my bike to give a visit, it was a good view in the rain, but couldn't use camera due to heavy rain. Then continued my journey on a path where it's raining and the sun is shining its last light.
The road was like a silver thread shining from the beautiful evening rays, the beauty can only be experienced than words. Finally after reaching Chikmagalur had a tea and had some conversation with locals to plan my next day.

Got a room in the town itself as it is the best location to go to all places.... After changing to dry clothes, explored the town a little and tried shawarma (It should be named as hot & spicy shawarma), taste is too good and very spicy but for the cold climate, it is needed one. The day ended with a lot of excitement and expectations for the next day...
